Hand woven on my Saori loom, I use the same principles I use for painting. Composition and color are a large part of the finished piece but the most important part is allowing the fabric to speak for itself and listen to what it wants to be. It is all about the personality and diversity of the cloth, lovingly woven. I use all natural fibres such as bamboo, cotton, linen, wool and silk.
Each piece is designed and woven to create a wearable work of art. I custom wind each warp using a combination of yarns and colors to compliment the finished piece, then the warp is rolled onto a warp roller, threaded to the loom and woven until the desired lengths are achieved. Jackets and vests are cut out, sewn and washed to complete these luxurious pieces. PLEASE CLICK ON EACH IMAGE FOR PRICING AND MEASUREMENTS.
Weaving Garden Studio is now open by apt. (bowena@shaw.ca).
